June 29th, 2009

The Salmon fishing off BC’s west coast is still on fire.
Anywhere on the inside banks, South Bank, Long Beach, Lighthouse Bank, and Portland Point are Great spots to catch your limit of Chinook Salmon withing an hour. You have to come try it, you won’t believe how great the fishing is!!!
6 and 7 inch spoons with no flasher are working great for 25-30 lb chinook salmon.

If you don’t believe me… grab your boat, or give me a call, and come fishing.

Don’t have a boat? Don’t worry , we have 2 fantastic 38′ yachts, book your fishing charter today.

Salmon and Halibut Fishing Report, Ucluelet, BC, June 15-21

June 24th, 2009

The Salmon are here in Hoards and the Halibut has blown up!

The Salmon Fishing is still the best I have seen it off the west coast of ucluelet with south bank and Great bear producing limits of 15 thru 30 lb chinook.

Halibut Fishing is starting to get real hot at La Perouse Bank 18 miles south of the BC coast. The Rats nose and the Gullies are the hottest spots.

Green Pattern Hootchies in the Cuttle fish Size, (the bigger ones) for Halibut Trolled off the bottom are producing consistent catches, and Single 6-7 inch coyote spoons in the water with no flasher in the Green/Silver, and blue/silver as well as the watermelon pattern are the lures of choice for big chinook salmon.

Check back next week for another BC Salmon and Halibut Fishing Report

A man who was stopped by a Game-Warden…

June 17th, 2009

A man who was was stopped by a game-warden in Northern Algonquin Park recently with two buckets of fish leaving a lake well known for its fishing…
The game warden asked the man, “Do you have a license to catch those fish?”

The man replied to the game warden, “No, sir. These are my pet fish.”
“Pet fish?!” the warden replied.

“Yes, sir. Every night I take these here fish down to the lake and let them swim around for a while. I whistle and they jump back into their buckets, and I take em home.”
“That’s a bunch of hooey! Fish can’t do that!”

The man looked at the game warden for a moment, and then said, “Here, I’ll show you. It really works.”

“O.K. I’ve GOT to see this!” The game warden was curious.
The man poured the fish in to the river and stood and waited. After several minutes, the game warden turned to the man and said, “Well?”

“Well, what?” the man responded.
“When are you going to call them back?” the game warden prompted.
“Call who back?” the man asked.
“The FISH”
“What fish?” the man asked.

BC Salmon Fishing Reports, June 8-14

June 14th, 2009
Nice Fish Doc

Nice Fish Doc

Wow the Salmon Fishing of the West Coast of Vancouver Island, BC is the best I have seen it in over a decade!

The fishing has been crazy, we have been out 6 of the last 7 days with limits of chinook salmon being caught within an hour. My best day was June 12 when we had a group of 7 guests, Dr. Obrien and friends, and we have 14 chinook salmon all over 20 lbs. (We were also back at the dock by noon.)
The Salmon Fishing Video will be posted by weeks end, we have a little editing to do.

Coyote spoons are the bait of choice in 3,4, and 5 inch sizes with the blue and silver and green and silver colour patterns.

Right now its Catching Salmon, not Fishing Salmon in Ucluelet, BC. If you don’t believe me book a charter and I’ll show you.

Thanks,
Skipper Dave
